In 2018 the Zaleschuk family had the extraordinary opportunity to purchase an 8 acre plot of land on the southern outskirts of Fallbrook, Ca. A piece of land that they had been dreaming to own.

It was magical, and bursting with opportunity. 360 degree views, they could see a glimpse of what could be. But there was work to do. Half of it was a forgotten avocado grove where the trees were being taken back into the earth, the other an overgrown sumac and oak forest. An abandon home sat on top of the hill. The opportunities were vast.

6 months later the Family would take a trip to the Valle De Guadalupe, a beautiful wine country in Encenada, Baja California, only 100 miles away. The region was exploding with exquisite vineyards, luscious fruit and intriguing and exotic restaurants and tasting rooms. They tasted some of the best wines of their lives!

Upon returning from that trip the decision was made. The newly acquired plot of land was destined to become a vineyard.

During the lockdowns of 2020 they took the opportunity to start working and preparing the land. In early 2021 they planted 1500 grape vines, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Albariño, and Petite Verdot.

Today the Zaleschuk's continuously strive to support and cultivate Black Moon vineyard with regenerative farming practices. As well as create an elegant and stylish environment for their wine to one day be enjoyed.
